ICTC provides a full line of paraffin and asphaltene control products including:

  • Removal solvents
  • Molecular dispersants
  • Crystal modifiers

Paraffin and Asphaltene Control and Removal

Untreated paraffin and asphaltene can plug formations, tubing, and flowlines restricting oil production.

Stabilized or increased production is frequently observed following scheduled treatments with ICTC dispersants and solvents at regular intervals. Untreated, this accummulation of organic paraffin can readily adhere to surfaces and restrict flow. After treatment, ICTC dispersants and solvents have penetrated the mass and broken it up into small particles, each chemically coated so they do not re-combine. No more restrictions.
  • Lower pressure is one way of gauging effectiveness of the chemical treatment program in keeping flowlines and tubulars clean.
  • Costly, troublesome, constantly recurring paraffin/ asphaltene stifles oil production and profitability and severely cripples efficiency of operations.
  • Programmed downhole applications keeps system clean, minimizes rod pulling jobs and other maintenance.

ICTC paraffin/asphaltene controllers are specialized chemistries that wet surfaces, displace deposits and prevent redeposition. With regular treatments, the effects are ongoing and the system is cleaned and maintained.

Molecular dispersants are used to control deposition of solids. These are the products of choice for systems where chemical can not be applied upstream of where the solids are being formed.

Crystal modifiers are used to lower cloud point or pour point in waxy production or to prevent the flucsulation of asphaltenes in asphaltene production (oil or condensate).

Crude oil dehydration

Clean oil (pipeline grade) and clean water for injection are requirements for a technically sound crude oil dehydration program.
Emulsion breaking is one of the most complex and situational aspects of oilfield chemistry. To facilitate the economical removal of water from crude oil, ICTC offers a range of demulsifiers that are drawn from a wide range of chemistries and specially designed molecules. When formulated, these products are capable of treating a wide range of emulsions under the most demanding field specific conditions – including short residence times, high turbulence, high solids loading and water content.

Treatment programs featuring ICTC demulsifiers offer drier oil, cleaner water, and a sharper interface resulting in reduced overall treating costs and smoother treating operations.
