Regain-Plus ™

Permeability and Enhancement Additive

ICTC has developed an additive that enables most any hydrocarbon-based fracturing fluid to achieve 100% regain permeability by inhibiting the deposition of asphaltene in the reservoir.

ICTC has an exceptional track record of responding to customer needs and being leaders in the marketplace. With our dedicated, in-house laboratory, experienced field representatives and industry partners, we are able to quickly bring to market new and innovative solutions. Regain-Plus is our latest innovation to add value to our clients' hydrocarbon fracturing operations.Regain-Plus is a patent pending, oil soluble product used to prevent asphaltene deposition that may result when fracturing fluids are incompatible with native hydrocarbons.

Performance Features:

  • Prevents and removes asphaltene deposition
  • Increases regain permeability as compared to hydocarbon-based fracturing fluids alone
  • Allows use of any hydrocarbon-based fracturing fluid in any formation with 100% regain
  • Soluble so there is no mixing or compatibility issues
  • Product is able to be stocked at Frac Fluid supply points to eliminate additional trucking charges
  • packaged in pails or drums for eae of use/application
  • Low dosage treatments - 5 litres/m3.

Test Results

The sandstone cores were flooded with asphaltenic oil (maintained at wellhead pressure) and the initial K was measured. The selected fracturing fluid was the flooded into the core (3 pore volumes) and the regain was measured. Then the tests were done with regain plus added to the fracturing fluid. Regain-plus permeability to oil was conducted in the original flow direction to stimulate inflow cleanup from the resevoir after drilling. Both samples showed a dramatic increase in regain permeability compared to hydrocarbon-based fracturing fluids alone. An increase thof 15% to 21% in permeability regain is a significant increase that may allow the initial production rate of a well to reduce payout time significantly.

Regain Plus is availiable in pails or drums for ease of use. ICTC also stocks this product at each Frac Fluid Depot so that it may be added prior to shipping.
