ECL has been dedicated to a tradition of excellence for over 60 years.
Back in 1937, Emil Fredericks founded Economy Feed and Transfer, a small feed and fuel operation that supplied bulk fuel from Maple Leaf Petroleum to the United Farmers of Alberta. Ten years later, Emil and his three brothers-in law, Harvey, Alvin, and Harry Bietz incorporated Economy Carriers Limited and got into the business of hauling fuel and freight. Over the next sixty-plus years ECL would evolve into a strong company focused in three core businesses:
- Hauling freight and bulk liquids
- Providing oilfield specialty chemicals and fluids
- Product handling and terminals
ECL has grown the old fashioned way – through
hard work, providing exceptional customer service and rolling up our
sleeves to get the job done. And, while we deploy the latest
cutting-edge technology and science to meet our customers’ varying
needs, we haven’t forgotten the rural Alberta work ethic that got
us here.
That work ethic and our tradition of excellence
are behind everything we do.
From humble beginnings over 60 years ago to an industry leader today,
ECL has built a tradition of excellence.
This tradition is something we take very seriously and believe we have a responsibility to carry it forward in
everything we do.
Being named one of Canada’s 50 Best Private
Managed Companies six times, earning a prestigious Pinnacle Award,
achieving ISO 9001:2000 certification and receiving numerous industry
and community awards proves our commitment to excellence is more than
just words.
And while our products and services may be
diverse, the pillars of our company remain the same across all
business lines.
Whether it’s
providing the right specialty chemical for your well site, taking
your freight across the country, warehousing your products at one of
our terminals or transporting bulk liquids, our commitment to
excellence is as strong as ever.
